Terms of Service

Version 1.0 — March 24, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

Using CronFu means you agree to these terms.

By creating an account, accessing, or using CronFu ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Definitions

"CronFu," "we," "us," and "our" refer to CronFu and its operators. "You," "your," and "Customer" refer to the individual or organization using the Service. "Service" means the CronFu platform, including the web dashboard, APIs, CLI tools, agent software, and all related services.

3. Service Description

What CronFu does and what it doesn't guarantee.

CronFu provides cron job monitoring, alerting, and observability tools. The Service includes ping ingestion, a web dashboard, command-line interface (CLI) tools, an agent daemon for remote management, and a REST API for programmatic access. CronFu does not guarantee specific outcomes from monitoring and is not a substitute for your own operational safeguards.

4. Accounts

You're responsible for your credentials and account security.

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, including API keys and agent keys. One account per person or organization. You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account. Sharing account credentials with individuals outside your organization is prohibited.

5. Acceptable Use

Use CronFu for cron monitoring. Don't abuse it.

You agree not to:

  • Send pings unrelated to cron job or scheduled task monitoring.
  • Abuse the free tier by creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits.
  • Resell access to the Service without prior written permission.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, monitor caps, or other account restrictions.
  • Include malware, personally identifiable information (PII), or sensitive credentials in log output sent to CronFu.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service for competitive analysis or benchmarking without prior written consent.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service outside of the provided APIs.

6. Billing & Payment

Plans auto-renew. You can cancel anytime.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Annual plans include a 20% savings compared to monthly billing. Plan changes are prorated for the current billing period. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period; monitors exceeding the new tier's limit are paused, not deleted.

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your billing page; access continues through the end of your current billing period. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you via email. After 14 days of failed payment, your account may be downgraded to the Free tier. Your monitors and configuration are preserved, but monitors exceeding the Free tier limit will be paused.

7. Free Tier

Free forever with usage limits. No credit card needed.

The Free tier is available indefinitely and does not require a credit card. Free accounts are subject to the limits described on the Pricing page, including 25 monitors, 5-minute minimum check intervals, and 7-day data retention. Data older than the retention period is permanently deleted.

We reserve the right to modify Free tier limits with 30 days' notice. Free accounts that have had no active monitors and no login activity for 12 consecutive months may be deleted after notice.

8. Service Availability

Best-effort uptime. SLAs available for Team plans.

We provide the Service on a best-effort basis. No service level agreement (SLA) is included with Free or Starter plans. Team customers may negotiate a separate SLA. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.

9. Data Ownership & Portability

Your data is yours. Export it anytime.

You retain full ownership of all data you send to CronFu ("Customer Data"). You grant CronFu a limited, non-exclusive license to use Customer Data solely to provide and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete your data or close your account.

You may export your data at any time via Settings > Account > Export My Data. Exports include monitors, run history, alert configuration, and log excerpts in a downloadable archive.

We may generate anonymized, aggregated statistics about platform usage that cannot identify you or your organization. We do not sell or license Customer Data to third parties. For full details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.

10. API Usage & Third-Party Integrations

Rate limits apply. We're not responsible for third-party services.

To protect the stability and security of the Service, we enforce rate limits on API endpoints. Rate limits vary by endpoint type and may be adjusted as the platform evolves. Requests exceeding the applicable limit receive an HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) response.

Your billing tier determines the resource limits for your account, including the number of monitors, data retention periods, and other features as described on the Pricing page. Sustained abuse of rate limits or resource caps may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access to the Service.

CronFu integrates with third-party services (including Slack, Discord, PagerDuty, and webhooks) at your direction. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services, or for any data you transmit to them through the Service.

11. Account Termination

Cancel anytime. Your data is kept for 30 days after.

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us at legal@cronfu.dev. Upon voluntary cancellation, your data will be preserved for 30 days to allow retrieval, then permanently deleted.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for violations of these Terms, abuse, or security threats. For other issues, we will provide reasonable notice before termination. Upon termination for cause, access is revoked immediately and data is deleted within 30 days.

12. Limitation of Liability

Liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. CronFu is not liable for missed alerts, delayed notifications, or any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid to CronFu in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event shall CronFu be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunity.

13. Intellectual Property

We own the platform. You get a license to use it.

CronFu, its logo, and all associated trademarks, service marks, and branding are the property of CronFu. The Service, including its software, design, and documentation, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use CronFu's trademarks or branding without prior written consent.

Subject to these Terms, CronFu grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes. This license does not include the right to modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service.

14. Indemnification

You cover us if your usage causes legal problems.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CronFu, its officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

15. Changes to Terms

We'll give you 30 days' notice before material changes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may terminate your account before they take effect.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

US law applies. Try informal resolution first.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If you have any concern or dispute about the Service, you agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@cronfu.dev.

17. For European Union (EU) Users

If you are a European consumer, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident.

19. Miscellaneous

  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
  • Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CronFu regarding the Service.
  • Assignment. CronFu may assign its rights under these Terms. You may not assign your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.
  • Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
